Back in 2013, Edward Snowden fled to Russia due to the fact that he leaked highly classified information from the National Security Agency. He is now known as an American Whistleblower. Today, at age 36, Edward Snowden is still in asylum residing in Russia. On September 23rd, 2019, Edward Snowden decided to have a one hour interview with MSNBC. There he talked about privacy laws, threats, Donald Trump and the past election.

Since he's been residing in Russia, he claims Putin is an authoritative leader and Russia doesn't have the best civil rights compared to the United States. Snowden also goes on to talk about the past election that gave Donald Trump the big seat in the White House and claims that Russia influenced that decision. He referenced major newspapers such as the New York Times that prove that other countries influence elections in other countries and that it has been happening for decades now. Edward Snowden even talks about elected Donald Trump and says he's quite "simple to understand".

Edward Snowden said he would love to work with the NSA and the CIA free of charge just so he can live in the land of the free. When asked why Snowden won't come to "face the music" to his charges, he claims that the Espionage Act of 1917 is such a meticulous law that anyone whose charged will have a hard time fighting it. He goes on to say that the law is about whether or not the person went on to give a journalist classified information. It isn't about whether or not the information is true or not. Listening to Snowden talk about everything years after he made initial breaking news truly opens anyone eyes to how fast news blows over but still effects people.
