Privacy and Revenge Porn

Listening to Darrieth Chisolm on her TED Talk about her experience with revenge porn truly sounds like a horror. Not just knowing that it only takes a person the press of one button to send nude photos of you online once for your life to fall apart. It also makes me think "imagine is my parents see this... my future kids.." that is a huge nightmare. With today's social media and other technologies enabling people to hide behind a phone and give a victim feeling the way that she described as "humiliating, degrading and depressing" only made me think: what happens to the bad guys?  The answer could be a simple 500$ fine. With someone that could lose their job and becoming a cast out from your friends and family, their consequence should be jail time and should be put on the sex offenders list. About 51% consider suicide due to their damaged relationships and reputation. Something a small as a click can seriously change the course of someone's life and third-party sites should consider reviewing a lot of what they allow on their sites because they could face lawsuits depending on their privacy policies.

There are so many dangers with sending graphic photos and when an aggressor takes it upon themselves to publish them without your consent, there is a special group that can help! Digital Millennium Copywrite Act, also known as DMCA, protects Copywrite owners and consumers. They have taken the initiative to hire qualified and experienced caseworkers to help with the process of getting their justice.
