Diffusions of Innovations

Diffusions of Innovations is a theory created by Everrett Rogers that explains how, why and when the rate of a new idea or product can spread. What was most interesting about the post about the Diffusion of Innovation, was the 5 stages of the adaption process. Those of the adaption process are Knowledge, Persuasion, Decision, Implementing and Confirmation. Within the step of Decision, the consumer will either reject or accept the product. Understanding that when a company must go through those 5 steps in that order, they are more likely to have a better impact on their product is very interesting.

In terms of the Apple product, iPhone, I now understand why it has sparked such a following. Apple products are known for having the best apps, updates and "clout". On the downside, when a company has such a huge following, if something goes wrong with the product, the company has to face the uproar. In 2014, the new product at the time iPhone 6 and 6s began to bend in people's pants due to a harsh design on Apple's part. This was a huge issue because due to the battery being bent, the phone can die faster.
